Steven M. Fass, M.D., is a board certified surgeon and pioneer in gastric Lap Band surgery for the treatment of chronic obesity. Dr. Fass has been a participant in the clinical trials resulting in the approval of Lap-Band by the FDA, and has published a number of papers on advanced laparoscopic surgical techniques.

After receiving his medical degree from the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Fass completed a residency at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center in Salt Lake City. He is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Society of Breast Disease, Texas Medical Association, American Society for Bariatric Surgery, and the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgery.
